About Invest Calc Tools

Why this site exists

We built Invest Calc Tools because understanding how money grows over time shouldn't require a finance degree or an expensive software subscription. When we started investing, we wanted simple, clear calculators that showed the math behind concepts like compound interest, dividend reinvestment, and dollar-cost averaging โ€” and we couldn't find ones that were both accurate and free of lead-generation gimmicks.

Most "investment calculators" online are marketing funnels for brokerage accounts, insurance products, or financial advisors. They hide the formulas, gatekeep the results behind email sign-ups, or steer you toward a specific product. We believe financial literacy tools should be free, transparent, and independent.

What we believe

Calculators should show the math. Every calculator on this site displays a full breakdown of how it arrived at the result. If you want to check it against a spreadsheet, you can. We never hide numbers behind a "sign up to see your results" wall.

Free means free. No accounts, no email gates, no upsells. Our calculators run entirely in your browser โ€” your financial data never touches our servers. We fund the site through advertising.

Honesty about limitations. Investment calculators use simplified models. Real markets are volatile, taxes eat into returns, and fees compound against you. We state these limitations clearly rather than presenting optimistic projections as certainty.

Education over products. We don't sell investment products, recommend specific stocks or funds, or receive commissions from financial companies. Our articles explain concepts; they don't push products.

What we are not

We are not financial advisors, certified financial planners, or registered investment advisors. Nothing on this site is investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Our calculators are mathematical tools that apply standard financial formulas to the numbers you enter. They cannot account for your specific tax situation, risk tolerance, time horizon, or financial goals.

If you are making decisions about significant sums of money โ€” retirement savings, portfolio allocation, major purchases โ€” please consult a qualified financial professional. Our calculators can give you a starting framework, but they are not a financial plan.

Our calculators

Compound Interest Calculator โ€” models how an initial investment grows over time with regular contributions and compound interest at various frequencies (daily, monthly, quarterly, annually).

ROI Calculator โ€” calculates total return and annualized return on any investment given the initial amount, final amount, and holding period.

Stock Return Calculator โ€” analyzes total return from a stock investment including capital appreciation and dividend income over a specified period.

Dollar Cost Averaging Calculator โ€” compares the results of investing a fixed amount at regular intervals versus a single lump-sum investment.

Dividend Reinvestment Calculator โ€” models how reinvesting dividends compounds returns over time, showing the growth difference between taking dividends as cash versus reinvesting.

Inflation Impact Calculator โ€” shows how inflation erodes the purchasing power of money over time and calculates the real (inflation-adjusted) value of future dollars.

How the site is funded

Invest Calc Tools is funded through advertising via Google AdSense. We don't charge for calculators, sell user data, or accept paid placements that could bias our content.
